As the scope and role of the humanities at ShanghaiTech expands, we are hiring for multiple new positions in various fields. We are especially interested in candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following areas: Philosophy, History, Literature, Political Science, and US-China relations. Applicants should have a conferred PhD by time of appointment. In addition to a highly competitive salary, we provide generous research funding. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Teaching & Research Areas
l Philosophy: Chinese Philosophy, Western Philosophy, Logic, Philosophy of Science, Ethics of science and technology, Bioethics,Aesthetics
l Chinese language and literature,Early-medieval literature, Chinese film and media studies
l History: Chinese diaspora, World History, Historical Theory, Art History,Intellectual History
l Foreign Languages and Literature: French, German, Japanese, British and American Literature, Language Pedagogy,Classics, Film and Television Studies/Popular Culture, Political Science and International Relations
Qualifications
1. Excellent academic background.
2. Capable of continuously publishing high-impact research, outstanding achievements in his/her area of research, and proven track record of excellent research capacity and potential.
3. High academic reputation in relevant area, and research achievements recognized by experts in relevant field.
4. Capable of teaching at least three different courses.
