His main research interests include the history of Chinese logic, informal logic and argumentation theory, critical thinking, and modern Chinese philosophy.

Abstract: In ancient China, argumentation practice was widely present across various fields of cognition and action. Moreover, there was some theoretical reflection on these practices, forming what is known as ancient Chinese argumentation theory. Since modern times, different interpretations of this theory have emerged, sparking heated debates. Among the existing interpretations and debates, the academic community has not paid sufficient attention to how to determine the nature of ancient Chinese argumentation theory based on its practices. This lecture will attempt to use digital humanities methods to reinterpret the ancient Chinese argumentation theory centered on the Three Objects Theory(三物论说) by analyzing examples of argumentation recorded in ancient texts, aiming to achieve explanatory effectiveness by applying empirical findings to empirical issues.
