Abstract: In July 2024, the exhibition On Top of the Pyramid: The Civilization of Ancient Egypt opened to the public at the Shanghai Museum. One of the exhibition's highlights was the first systematic announcement of the discoveries made by the Egyptian archaeological team in independent archaeology in the Saqqara region over the past ten years. This is also the world’s first exhibition of these cultural relics. This lecture will introduce the main achievements: Cat Temple, Noble Tombs and Painted Wooden Coffins. As one of the tomb areas in Memphis, Egypt's oldest capital, Saqqara has had many tomb-building peaks and is an area where Retroism is prevailing.
Inviter: Wang Luman, Associate Professor of Institute of Humanities, ShanghaiTech University.
