Profile
DAI Yulong is a Teaching Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Institute of Humanities, ShanghaiTech University. Advised by Professor Cai Jiahe at Nanjing University and Professor James C. Hsiung at New York University, he earned his Ph.D. in History of International Relations from Nanjing University. His research focuses on territorial dispute resolution, regional security, and Southeast Asian studies, with a particular emphasis on the patterns of dispute settlement among Southeast Asian states, as explored in his current research.
Dr. Dai has published on topics such as the Pedra Branca dispute and the Brunei-Malaysia territorial settlement. He teaches courses on “Introduction to International Politics,” “Territorial Disputes and Regional Security,” and others. Prior to his current role, he served as a manager at ShanghaiTech Office of International Affairs and was a research intern at the International Institute for Strategic Studies-Asia in Singapore. His work offers insights into peaceful conflict resolution and provides a unique perspective on territorial disputes and regional security issues.
Currently, Dr. Dai is preparing several manuscripts for academic journals andedited volumes, including an analysis of ASEAN’s composite strategies for territorial dispute settlement and a comparative study on resolution paths for the South China Sea disputes between China and its Southeast Asian neighbors.
